I’ve played a lot of FF7 back in the day and naturally I’ve listened to the original infinite times. It’s such an awesome piece of music and I always had a rough metal version in my mind so it was only a matter of time before I decided to take a shot at it.
It was challenging to try to get the mix right as I haven’t ever worked with so many layers of guitars, I always prefer to keep it as simple as possible. You have your standard 2 rhythm tracks but during the chorus there are 5 additional ones all playing different things. It gets quite busy there. After rediscovering how awesome my EX360 sounds through the Axe, I thought it was time for a new video. I wanted to do something simple and not over the top like my high gain showcases. Well, a cover is just that, at least I thought it was 🙂
This song has been covered like a million times, just look on YouTube and you’ll find a bunch. One more won’t hurt will it?
So yeah, usual setup, 2 guitars, one panned hard left and the other hard right, crappy bass of doom (and destruction) and my trusty SD2 TMF kit. I used my 6505+ patch for the guitars, I really love how crushing it sounds with my LTD.
I picked up my EX-360 the other day after not playing for a few months and as the title suggests, the bro0tz happened! I totally forgot how good this guitar sounds! I tuned it to Drop D, loaded my 6505+ … Continue reading
Done! Finally done! After months and months of working on this I can finally share it with all of you. I started this project back in December just before v9 was to be released and it went through various iterations … Continue reading
